Men's Squash Loses Close Match To MIT in Busy Weekend of Action

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team suffered a trio of losses in a busy weekend of action.

The Polar Bears (3-10) took a close 5-4 loss to MIT at home on Friday before falling to Brown, 8-1, and Virginia, 9-0, in matches played in Providence. The Polar Bears are ranked 24th in the latest national poll.

Weekend Highlights

  • The Polar Bears battled well, but lost a tight decision to the 20th-ranked Engineers on Friday. Ian Squiers, Ben Bristol and Sebastian Kim all captured 3-0 wins against MIT while Drew Clark earned a well-played 3-2 (9-11,12-10,11-6,7-11,11-6) victory.
  • Bowdoin came close in virtually all the other matches, taking a trio of 3-1 losses and a 3-2 defeat.
  • Bristol took the other Bowdoin victory of the weekend in the match against Brown as he posted a 3-0 triumph at the #3 spot in the lineup.

  • The Polar Bears will compete at the NESCAC Championship this coming weekend at Amherst. Complete pairings will be announced by the league on Tuesday.
