WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The Bowdoin softball team dropped a pair of low scoring Friday games against Becker and TCNJ. 

The Polar Bears sit at 3-3 after falling 3-1 to TCNJ (7-5) and 4-3 to Becker College (3-7).

Game One Highlights

• Jess Santelli accounted for all three runs scored by the Lions in game one. With two runners on base, Santelli tripled to clear the bases and put TCNJ up 2-0 in the bottom of the third.
• Santelli singled to center and drove in her third run of the game in the bottom of the fifth.
• Julia Geaumont spoiled the Lions shutout bid with an RBI single to right that drove in Jordan Gowdy.
• Emily Griffin put in six innings of work for the Polar Bears, earning seven strikeouts while allowing no walks. 

Game Two Highlights

• Bowdoin got on the board early, going up 1-0 in the first, off an RBI double from Griffin.
• Becker responded quickly with a three-run second to take the lead. The Hawks crossed home on a pair of wild pitches as well as an RBI single off the bat of Jennifer Boxell.
• Ashley Ciepiela scored the eventual game-winner on a passed ball in the fourth.
• The Polar Bears cut into Becker's lead with a two-run fifth. Claire McCarthy tagged a triple to right field that allowed Samantha Valdivia to score and Katie Kaufman doubled to center, driving in McCarthy.
• Bowdoin outhit the Hawks by an 8-5 margin.
• Samantha Roy went 3.1 innings in the circle and allowed one hit with three K's. Geaumont came in to complete the game and tallied a strikeout with four hits allowed.
