Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Colby men's ice hockey team made a late third period rally to come from behind and best Bowdoin 5-4 on Saturday night in Waterville.
The Mules improve to 5-1 overall and remain perfect in the NESCAC at 4-0. The Polar Bears drop their second straight game to Colby and fall to 3-4 (1-3 NESCAC). The series sweep is the first since the 2009-10 season and second all-time.
Game Highlights
- The Polar Bears took a lead late in the first period on a power play goal by Cody Todesco. Matthew Lison came in on the right side and saw his shot deflected away by Andrew Tucci. Todesco pounded home the rebound to go ahead 1-0.
- Colby tied the game just 50 seconds later as Phil Klitirinos cleaned up a rebound. JP Schuhlen hit the crossbar and EJ Rauseo tried to put back the rebound, but Peter Cronin made the initial stop. Klitirinos cleaned up the loose puck to even the score.
- Bowdoin scored two goals in the opening 2:26 of the second period. Austin Ricci fed Lison from behind the net, setting up Lison for a one-timer. The Polar Bears scored on the power playe shortly after as Lison pushed a pass to Chris Wallace. Wallace wristed his shot top corner from between the circles to push the Polar Bears ahead 3-1.
- At 4:03 into the second, Colby cut into the lead off a diving shot from Jack Burton. Burton skated down the right side and charged towards net and put a show low on Cronin.
- Schuhlen erased the Mules deficit with his first collegiate goal at 16:12 of the second. Klitirinos won the puck on the right boards and found Schuhlen for a breakaway that he buried with a low hard wrist shot.
- Bowdoin regained the lead less than three minutes into the third as Spencer Anutnez stole the puck off a Colby defender and quickly fed Thomas Dunleavy. Dunleavy sent the puck right back to Antunez for a stick-side top shelf shot.
- The Mule scored two goals in a 46 second span to take the game. Burton buried a one-timer and Rauseo stood alone in front of Cronin as the Polar Bears failed to clear the puck.

- Cronin made 35 saves in net for the Polar Bears.
- Tucci had 20 stops for Colby.
- Bowdoin was 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Mules were 1-for-10.
