Women's Basketball Rolls Regis For Eighth Consecutive Win

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team rolled to its eighth consecutive victory in a 84-44 win over Regis on Tuesday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears (9-2) are ranked 22nd in the latest D3Hoops.com national poll. Regis' seven-game winning streak comes to an end as the Pride fall to 7-2 on the year.

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin never trailed, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minute thanks to four early points from Shannon Brady
  • The Pride were able to stay within striking distance, closing the gap to 13-8 after a Shannon Hayes jumper late in the first quarter
  • Bowdoin answered with a 10-2 run to end the period, capped by four straight points from Lauren Petit to carry a 23-10 lead into the second quarter
  • The Polar Bears led 36-20 at the half thanks to 20 points off Regis turnovers in the opening 20 minutes
  • Brady scored 12 of her game-high 25 points as Bowdoin put the game on ice in the third quarter
  • Bowdoin led by as many as 42 points in the second half en route to the win

  • Brady was nearly unstoppable, hitting 10 of her first 12 shots and finishing 12-18 from the field for a game-high 25 points in just 21 minutes of play. She also added three blocked shots and five rebounds
  • Kate Kerrigan had 10 points, eight assists and four steals while Lauren Petit notched 10 points and seven boards
  • Abigail Kelly led the Bowdoin bench with 10 points as the Polar Bear reserves outscored Regis' 34-11
  • The Pride was paced by 13 points from Amanda Hawkesworth and nine from Brittany Snow
  • Bowdoin finished at 46% shooting for the game thanks to a 54% effort in the second half while Regis connected on 29% of its shots for the game and went 0-6 from three-point range
