Swimming & Diving Posts Victories Over Cardinals and Bantams

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin men's and women's swimming & diving teams each secured a pair of victories over the weekend against Wesleyan and Trinity.

The men's team compiled a 216.50-158.50 win over host Wesleyan and a 251.50-110.50 victory over Trinity. On the women's side, the Polar Bears outpaced Wesleyan 240-126 and Trinity by a 276-93 margin.

Women's Meet Results

  • Holly Rudel, Mariah Rawding, Mariah Reading, and Sophia Walker combined for a 200 medley victory (1:50.88).
  • Caroline Watt took first, by nearly a minute, in the 1650 yard freestyle with nearly a time of 17:57.88.
  • Rawding finished first in the 50 yard breaststroke (31.61) and 200 breaststroke (2:31.00), while Reading took the top spot in the 50 yard butterfly (27.04).
  • Rawding also took a first place finish in the 100 IM (1:01.73) followed by teammates Lela Garner (1:01.99) and Reading (1:02.82).
  • Rudel secured points for the Polar Bears with first place finishes in the 50 backstroke (28.72) and 100 backstroke (1:02.45).
  • Bridget Killian earned the win in the 50 (25.02), 100 (54.71), and 200 free (1:57.91).
  • Ally Fromson-Ho completed the 400 IM in 4:44.03 for a first place finish.
  • Christine Anderson swept the diving completion with top points in the 1-meter (251.15) and 3-meter (255.60).
  • Bowdoin's 200 freestyle relay of Killian, Katie Gaburo, Walker, and Garner took the top spot with a time of 1:41.91.

Men's Meet Results

  • Daniel Williams had a strong finish in the 1650 yard free to take first with a time of 16:29.69, followed by teammate Gabriel Siwady (16:40.49).
  • Bowdoin went 1-2 in the 50 backstroke, paced by Mike Netto (27.60) and John Lagasse (27.72).
  • Lagasse took first in the 50 free (22.52) followed by Will Hutchinson (22.56).
  • JR Chansakul took first in the 50 yard butterfly (23.71).
  • Stephen Pastoriza turned in a 4:11.51 in the 400 IM to post the fastest time.
  • Lagasse (1:00.16), Pastoriza (1:01.68), and Netto (1:01.89) swept the top three spots in the 100 breastsroke.
  • Mitch Ryan took first in the 3-meter diving event, posting a final score of 284.25.
  • Pastoriza captured another first place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.39).
  • Bowdoin's 200 yard freestyle relay turned in a final time of 1:28.69 for the top finish. Lyle Anderson, Will Hutchinson, Lagasse, and Karl Sarier combined for the win.
