BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's and women's swimming & diving teams suffered home losses to NESCAC rival Bates on Friday night in Greason Pool.
The men's team finished one point shy of the visiting Bobcats in a 121-120 loss. The women dropped a 147-93 point margin to Bates.
Men's Meet Highlights
- Daniel Williams took first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a final time of 9:51.87. Teammate Gabriel Siwady finished second in the event at 10:.01.44
- Williams also took first in the 500 free (4:51.65)
- Karl Serier finished the 200 free in 1:43.83 for first, taking the top spot by a four second margin
- John Lagasse took a top place finish in the 50 free (22.05)
- Mitch Ryan finished first in both the 1 and 3-meter diving events. Ryan tallied 261.90 points off the 3-meter and 247.65 off the lower board.
- Stephen Pastoriza's time of 2:10.04 was the fastest of the evening in the 200 breaststroke
Women's Meet Highlights
- Lela Garner captured a first place finish in the 200 free with a final time of 1:56.63
- Christine Anderson won the 1-meter diving competition by almost a ten point margin with a final score of 238.80
- Ally Fromson-Ho completed the 200 yard butterfly in 2:09.28 for a first place finish
- Bowdoin's entry in the 200 freestyle relay finished with a combined 1:40.37 to edge out Bates. Mariah Rawding, Linnea Patterson, Garner, and Sophia Walker comprised the team.
