BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's squash team closed out its first semester with a split on Saturday.
The Polar Bears defeated MIT 5-4 and lost to Trinity 9-0 to end the first half of the year with a 2-4 record. Bowdoin is ranked 21st in the latest national poll while MIT stands 27th and Trinity is ranked first.
Highlights
- Bowdoin got strong play from the bottom of its lineup to get past a much-improved Engineer squad in their opener Saturday
- Sebastian Kim collected a 3-1 decision at number seven while Satya Butler (3-0) and Arjun Dravid (3-0) took sweeps at positions eight and nine
- The key wins came courtesy of Alex Reisley, 3-1, at number three (11-8, 11-7, 8-11, 11-3) and a hard-fought 3-2 victory from George Cooley at number six (13-11, 11-3, 6-11, 8-11, 11-7)
- Ian Squiers was the lone Polar Bear to take a game against Trinity, falling at number five in an eventual 3-1 setback
