BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Tufts men's ice hockey team used a goal with under three minutes remaining to break the scoreless stalemate with Bowdoin on Friday night, going on to win 2-0.

The Jumbos (2-4-2, 1-3-1 NESCAC) collect their first conference victory of the season, while dropping the Polar Bears to 3-5-1 (1-3-1 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

• Mason Pulde stood his ground in the crease for Tufts stopping every shot he faced. Pulde stopped a promising wraparound by Sebastian Foster late in the second.
• The goalie stopped a quick shot by Cody Todesco off a faceoff in the Jumbos' defensive zone midway through the third period.
• Matt Sullivan blocked a Tufts shot at the blue line and collected the puck off his body, to earn a breakaway into Jumbos territory.
• Ryan Wolter set up the game-winning goal for Tufts with a shot from the left point. Stewart Bell deflected the incoming puck from the far post to best Peter Cronin and score the first goal of the evening with 2:58 remaining.
• Chad Goldberg added an insurance empty-netter in the final minute, flipping a shot on net from in front of the Tufts bench.

By the Numbers

• Pulde stopped all 29 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season,
• Cronin made 20 stops for the Polar Bears.
• Bowdoin went 0-for-6 on the power play, while Tufts converted on one of the team's two man-up opportunities.
