PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College women's basketball team lost to Plattsburgh State in the final of the Cardinal Tip-Off Classic on Saturday afternoon, 67-60.

The Polar Bears fall to 1-1 this season while the Cardinals improve to 3-0. Bowdoin's Shannon Brady and Marle Curle were recognized as members of the All-Tournament team.

How It Happened

• Bowdoin trailed 20-14 after one period but held Plattsburgh to just three points in the second quarter to carry a 24-23 lead into halftime
• The Polar Bears held as much as a six-point lead, 29-23, early in the third quarter, before Plattsburgh used a late run in the frame to regain the lead
• The Cardinals mounted a 10-4 surge, capped by a Devona Paul hoop-and-harm, to take a 37-36 edge
• The teams traded the lead and Plattsburgh carried a 46-43 advantage into the fourth quarter, where they scored the first eight points of the stanza to increase their lead to 54-43 with 8:42 to go
• Bowdoin cut the lead to three points, 54-51 after a Abigail Kelly steal and Kate Kerrigan lay-up, but Plattsburgh answered with a 5-0 run and iced the game at the free throw stripe

By The Numbers

• Marle Curle led Bowdoin with 16 points and six rebounds in the win
• Shannon Brady was saddled with foul trouble and was limited to only 15 minutes and six points
• Kerrigan finished with eight points, six steals and five rebounds for Bowdoin
• Lydia Caputi pitched in eight points off the bench for the Polar Bears
• Plattsburgh featured four players in double figures, led by Allie Taylor's 16
