Box Score PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Women's basketball senior Shannon Brady surpassed the 1,000-point plateau as Bowdoin won its season debut over Clarkson, 68-61, at the Plattsburgh State Tip-Off Tournament on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears will play the Cardinals in the title match tomorrow afternoon.
Game Highlights
- Trailing in the early going, Bowdoin used a 10-1 run to take the lead for good late in the opening quarter
- The Polar Bears owned a ten-point lead on two occasions in the second quarter and carried a 35-27 advantage at halftime
- Clarkson closed to within two points in the third quarter before a Brady jump shot keyed a 5-0 surge to close the period with a 49-42 lead for the Polar Bears
- The Golden Knights got as close as five points in the final quarter, including within 59-54 following a three-pointer with 2:29 remaining
- Brady replied for Bowdoin with consecutive buckets to push the lead back to eight points with under a minute remaining

- With her game-high 21 points, Brady became the 14th Bowdoin women's basketball player to surpass the 1,000-point milestone (1,004)
- Brady also pitched in seven rebounds and five blocks
- She was joined in double figures by Kate Kerrigan (11 points, eight rebounds) and Marle Curle (10 points, five assists)
- Rachel Norton added in a big ten-point output off the bench for the Polar Bears
- Ashley Loggins led Clarkson with 19 points
- Bowdoin shot 42% from the field and got 22 points off the bench compared to 10 for Clarkson
