Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity women's soccer team scored with nine minutes remaining in regulation to come away with a 1-0 victory over visiting Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears fall to 5-3-1 (3-3-0 NESCAC), suffering their first setback since September 20 against Williams. The Bantams improve to 8-2-0 (4-2-0 NESCAC) with the victory.
How It Happened
- Bowdoin tallied 12 shots in the opening half, directing nine on goal, but were unable to spoil Monica DiFiori's shutout.
- After mustering only one shot on goal in the opening half, Trinity forced Bowdoin keeper Bridget McCarthy to stop three shots in the second. The Polar Bears challenged DiFiori with two more shots on net.
- The Bantams scored the game's lone goal in the 81st minute as Kendra Lena sent a ball into the box where Caroline McKenna was able to find the back of the net.
- Bowdoin's last chance came with less than a minute remaining after a Trinity turnover allowed the Polar Bears to charge down the field with a numbers advantage. However, Trinity was able to break up the play.
