BRUNSWICK, Maine - Due to a lack of available players for Amherst, the Bowdoin College women's rugby team earned a forfeit win over the Jeffs, 28-0 on Saturday at Pickard Field.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-0 this season. In place of a match, the Polar Bears shared players with Amherst and the teams held a joint scrimmage.

How It Happened

• Addison Carvajal scored a pair of first half tries to get Bowdoin on the scoreboard early, including a nifty give-and-go between her and Georgia Bolduc that resulted in a score
• Pamela Zabala and Vianney Gomezgil Yaspik broke through from 15 and 10-yards out later in the period as the Polar Bears carried a 22-0 lead into the break
• Bowdoin pulled away in the second half thanks to great play from Carvajal, Le'Shauna Phinazee, Katie Craighill and Cammie Ogden-Fung
• Emily King, Ogden-Fung, Paige Pfannenstiel, Simone Rumph, Bolduc, and Katie Craighill all earned second-half tries
• Carvajal buried three conversion kicks on the afternoon
