SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team suffered three tough losses in action at the Pioneer Valley Invitational last weekend.
The Polar Bears, who dropped to 1-9 on the season, were tripped up 9-0 to Drexel before falling in a pair of tight matches, 5-4 to Hobart and 5-4 to Wesleyan.
Matthew Cooper was oustanding in the #1 position, earning a 3-0 win over Hobart and a 3-1 victory in the Wesleyan match. Benjamin Bristol (3-0 at #5), Alex Reisley (3-0 at #6) and Henry Haig (3-2 at #9) also earned points for Bowdoin in the Wesleyan match. Against Wesleyan, Christian Dorff (3-0 at #3), Andrew Ward (3-0 at #4) and Cyrus Nassikas (3-0 at #7) joined Cooper in the win column.
The Polar Bears will look to bounce back next weekend in a pair of matches. Bowdoin will travel to play at Brown on Saturday (1:00 p.m.) before returning to Brunswick to host Colby on Sunday (1:00 p.m.).
