CLERMONT, Fla. – The Bowdoin softball suffered its first back-to-back losses of the 2014 season on Sunday morning.

Bowdoin returned to action behind a strong seven-inning showing from Melissa DellaTorre to open the day. The senior pitcher allowed just two runs, both unearned, after walking one and collecting three strikeouts. The Polar Bears mustered four hits against Enidcott, but were unable to tally any runs. Hanna Wurgaft went 2-3 at the plate, with Casey Correa and Emily Griffin each connecting for a single.

Julia Geaumont took the mound for the final inning, forcing the Cardinals into a 1-2-3 bottom of the sixth.

Bowdoin will look to return above .500 with a pair of games tomorrow. The Polar Bears open with a 9:00 a.m. game against Plymouth State, followed by a 1:00 p.m. matchup with Fradonia State.
