Bowdoin Baseball Opens Season With Doubleheader Sweep of Roger Williams

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Bowdoin College baseball team swept its season-opening doubleheader over Roger Williams on Monday afternoon, 7-3 in game one and 6-2 in game two.

The Polar Bears scored three runs in the first inning of the season, sparked by a bases-clearing triple from Peter Cimini. Cimini finished 2-2 with a triple, double and a walk at the plate. Chad Martin went 3-4 with a triple as well to spark a three-run fifth frame. Erik Jacobsen got the win on the mound for Bowdoin.

Harry Ridge was outstanding in a game two victory for the Polar Bears, tossing a complete game, allowing two runs and five hits while striking out three. Cimini again was the star at the plate, going 2-4 with a pair of doubles.
