Men's Squash Advances to Consolation Final at Summers Cup

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team bounced back from a first round loss Friday to upend Hamilton, 7-2, in the consolation bracket of the Summers Cup at CSA Team Nationals Saturday at Harvard.

The Polar Bears advance to play Amherst on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in the consolation final for 21st place in the nation.

For the second straight day, the bottom of Bowdoin's ladder led the team to victory. Maxwell Bearse (3-1), William Winmill (3-0), Benjamin Bristol (3-2) and Cyrus Nassikas (3-1) each contributed points at the six through nine positions. Stephan Danyluk provided a convincing 3-0 win at #1 while Christian Dorff picked up a 3-1 win at #3 and Andrew Ward earned a 3-2 win at #4 to round out the victory.

Sunday promises to be another close match, as Bowdoin earned a 5-4 win over the Jeffs at the NESCAC Tournament just two weeks ago.
