BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Jill Henrikson scored 25 points with nine rebounds and nine steals to lead the Polar Bear women's basketball team in a 65-45 win over Eastern Connecticut State University Tuesday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

Henrikson finished one steal and one rebound shy of the fourth triple-double in school history as the Polar Bears (15-5) rolled to their fourth straight win. Anna Prohl pitched in 12 points for the Polar Bears, who had 10 different players score. The Warriors (6-14) drop their seventh straight decision despite the best efforts of Kristina Forsman, who scored 23 points with six rebounds in 40 minutes of play.

Bowdoin never trailed in the game, jumping to a 15-6 lead in the early going thanks to 10 points from Henrikson in the first six minutes. The Warriors clawed back to tie the game with a 9-0 spurt, sparked by a Danyelle Rodriguez three-pointer, but the Polar Bears closed the half on a 12-2 run, capped by a Henrikson trifecta that pushed the lead to 37-26 at the break.

Eastern Connecticut was able to trim the lead to single digits, 37-30, after four straight points from Forsman out of halftime, but Bowdoin quickly replied with an 8-0 charge to regain a sizeable edge. The Polar Bears led by as many as 26 points as Prohl scored 10 of her 12 points in the stanza.

The teams shot at nearly identical clips (Bowdoin 36.9%, Eastern Conn. 36.4%) but the Polar Bears connected on nine three-pointers to just two for the Warriors. Bowdoin held a 44-35 edge on the glass, a 24-3 lead in bench scoring and scored 25 points off of 21 Eastern Connecticut turnovers.

Bowdoin will return to action on Friday at Middlebury (6:00 p.m.). Eastern Connecticut will host Plymouth State on Saturday (1:00 p.m.).
