PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Returning from a ten-day layoff, the Bowdoin College squash teams were defeated by Brown on Tuesday afternoon. The men's team dropped a 7-2 decision while the women were swept 9-0 by the Bears. The Polar Bears will return to action this weekend with several matches at the Yale Round Robin.
The 18th-ranked Bowdoin men stand at 2-6 this winter while the 21st-ranked women are 1-6. The Brown men are ranked 13th in the latest national poll while the Brown women stand 10th in the country.
Earning points for the Polar Bears on Tuesday were sophomores William Fantini and Barrett Takesian, both of whom collected hard-fought five-game victories at number four and five, respectively. Lauren Gesswein won a game at number one singles for the women before falling in a 3-1 loss.
