CLERMONT, Fla. - The Bowdoin College softball team split a
doubleheader on Tuesday in Florida, moving to 9-5 this season. The
Polar Bears lost to Union, 3-1, but rebounded to defeat Plymouth
State, 6-2.
Bowdoin could only muster three hits in support of Kara Nilan in
the opening contest, with Gen Barlow getting credit for two of
them. Nilan scattered eight hits and struck out eight in the loss
while Clare Ronan had the other Bowdoin hit and scored the lone
run.
Ronan collected two more hits while Lauren Coven rapped a two-run
triple to lead the Polar Bears to a win in game two. Kaity Sansone
allowed just five hits in six innings of work to get the win while
Michelle Wells closed the door for the save.
