WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Bowdoin College baseball team split a
high-scoring twinbill against Allegheny on Tuesday afternoon,
winning game one 10-9 before falling 11-9 in game two. The Polar
Bears are 9-2 this spring.
Reid Auger reached base five times in the opener, going 4-4 with a
hit-by-pitch and scoring three runs. Brendan Garner went 3-5 with
two doubles and a pair of RBI while Dan Hicks and Dan Findley also
collected a pair of hits. Eric Chenelle earned the win in relief
while Ian Edwards got credit for the save.
The Polar Bears saw their seven-game win streak snapped in the
nightcap loss thanks to a seven-run sixth inning for Allegheny.
Auger, Garner and Brett Gorman each had two hits, including
doubles, in the defeat.
