HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals on Saturday, defeating Middlebury before falling to national power Trinity. The Polar Bears stand at 11-8 this season.

The fourth-seeded Polar Bears cruised past fifth-seeded Middlebury, 8-1 in their opening match. Bowdoin won at spots two through nine, including 3-0 sweeps from Peter Cipriano (#4), William Fantini (#7), Andrew Hilboldt (#8) and Thai Ha-ngoc (#9).

Hilboldt stole a point for Bowdoin in their match against the defending national champions in the semifinals as the Polar Bears dropped an 8-1 decision. Hilboldt dropped William Burchfield at the number eight position, 6-11, 11-7, 13-11, 11-7, to give Bowdoin their first point against Trinity since 2007.

Bowdoin will close out their regular season when they host Colby on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.
