Bowdoin Reaches Double Figures Again in Victory at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine - Elizabeth Clegg and Katie Herter both had two goals in lifting sixth-ranked Bowdoin College to a 5-1 win over Colby College in NESCAC field hockey Wednesday night at Bill Alfond Field. The Polar Bears earned their 10th win of the season and reach double-digits for the 19th-straight season; the longest such streak in Division III field hockey.

Clegg scored two goals in the first 6:32 of the game and later added an assist for Bowdoin (10-0 overall, 6-0, NESCAC). Herter also had two goals and one assist. Kassey Matoin also tallied for the Polar Bears. After Bowdoin took a 4-0 lead at intermission, Herter took a centering pass from Clegg and tallied just 26 seconds into the second half in putting the Polar Bears up 5-0. Colby midfielder Meryl Poulin scored off a penalty corner with about 20 minutes to play.

Emily Neilson played the first half and did not make a save, while Kayla Lessard stopped three shots in the second half. Liz Fontaine made 12 stops for Colby.
