Julia Ireland

Julia Ireland was named assistant coach of women's icehockey in the summer of 2013.

Ireland joins the Polar Bears after a distinguished playing careerand coaching start at Middlebury, where she graduated in 2011 withdegrees in English/American Literatures and History.

The captain of the Panthers during her senior year, Ireland'steams earned a combined record of 78-13-8. She made three NCAATournament appearances, twice advanced to the Frozen Four, whilewinning a pair of NESCAC titles. During her senior season, Irelandearned second-team All-NESCAC honors. She finished the season thirdon the team with 21 points, coming on a dozen goals and nineassists.

She stayed with the Panthers as a coach following graduation whereshe assisted head coach Bill Mandigo. In her two years behind thebench, Middlebury posted a 41-12-5 mark, won the 2012 NESCACChampionship and twice advanced to the NCAA Division IIITournament, including a runner-up finish in 2013.
