Bowdoin College

Scott Wiercinski has served as head coach of the Bowdoin men’s soccer program since 2013, establishing the Polar Bears as a consistent contender in the NESCAC and nationally. A Brunswick native, Wiercinski has guided Bowdoin to a pair of NESCAC Championships and numerous NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a run to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2025. He became the third coach in program history to reach 100 victories at Bowdoin, accomplishing the milestone faster than any previous Polar Bear head coach.


 

At Bowdoin

• Head Coach of Men’s Soccer since 2013.
• Guided Bowdoin to back-to-back NESCAC Championships in 2014 and 2015, the first conference titles in program history.
• Named NESCAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
• Has led the Polar Bears to six of the program's 11 NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
• Guided Bowdoin to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2025 and 2022. 
• Became the third head coach in program history to earn 100 victories at Bowdoin, reaching the milestone in fewer seasons than any previous coach.
• Coached Tyler Huck ’26 to 2025 NESCAC Player of the Year and All-America honors before Huck signed professionally with Portland Hearts of Pine.

• 2013–present: Head Coach, Men’s Soccer — Bowdoin College.
• 2006–12: Head Coach, Men’s Soccer — University of Chicago; won 58 games and the 2009 UAA Championship.
• 2001–05: Assistant Coach, Men’s Soccer — Brown University; helped the Bears win three Ivy League championships and earn two NCAA Division I Tournament berths.
• 2000: Assistant Coach, Men’s Soccer — Bowdoin College; helped the Polar Bears to a 14-2-2 season.

Education & Certifications

• Middlebury College, 1999.

Athletic Career

• Four-year letter winner as a goalkeeper at Middlebury College.
• Two-time All-NESCAC goalkeeper.
• Helped Middlebury compile a 48-10-3 record and make four consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearances from 1995–98.
• Native of Brunswick, Maine, and graduate of Brunswick High School.
