Nicky Pearson is one of the most accomplished coaches in the history of NCAA Division III field hockey, having led Bowdoin since 1996. Under Pearson, the Polar Bears have won four NCAA Division III national championships (2007, 2008, 2010 and 2013) and eight NESCAC titles, while she has earned nine NESCAC Coach of the Year awards and four Division III National Coach of the Year honors. A native of Hereford, England, Pearson also serves as an Associate Athletic Director at Bowdoin.

At Bowdoin

  • Head coach of the Bowdoin field hockey program since 1996
  • Also serves as an Associate Athletic Director
  • Led Bowdoin to four NCAA Division III National Championships (2007, 2008, 2010, 2013)
  • Guided the Polar Bears to eight NESCAC Championships
  • Surpassed 400 career victories in 2025, becoming just the 10th coach in Division III field hockey history to reach the milestone
  • Bowdoin’s 2007 national championship team finished 20-0 and captured the first NCAA team championship in College history
  • Has coached more than 50 NFHCA All-America selections at Bowdoin
  • Has coached eight NESCAC Players of the Year with two individuals earning NFHCA Division III Players of the Year (Lindsay McNamara in 2007 and '08 and Rachel Kennedy in 2015)
