Bowdoin College

Laura Miller has served as head coach of the Bowdoin women’s rugby program since 2023, bringing extensive collegiate coaching and international playing experience to the Polar Bears. A former two-time All-American and member of the USA Women’s National Team, Miller has continued Bowdoin’s tradition as one of the nation’s premier collegiate rugby programs, highlighted by the Polar Bears’ championship at the inaugural NIRA 7s Championship in 2025.

At Bowdoin

• Head Coach of Women’s Rugby since 2023 and the second head coach in program history.
• Has continued Bowdoin’s tradition of success as one of the nation’s leading varsity women’s rugby programs, winning 16 matches at an 80% winning percentage since arriving on campus.
• Guided the Polar Bears to the 2025 NIRA 7s Championship, going undefeated at the inaugural championship event, after going 8-0 in her debut 2023 season and leading the team to the NIRA Division III championship.

Coaching Resume

• 2023–present: Head Coach, Women’s Rugby — Bowdoin College
• 2021–23: Head Coach, Women’s Rugby — Aquinas College; founding head coach of the program and co-chair of the student-athlete mental health committee.
• Previously served as Director and Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Rugby at Alderson Broaddus University, helping elevate the women’s program to NIRA Division II.

• St. Mary’s College of Maryland — Anthropology major, Environmental Studies minor.
• Life University — M.S. in Positive Psychology.
• USA Rugby Level 300 Coaching certification.

Athletic Career

• Two-time Women’s Rugby All-American at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
• Member of the USA Women’s National 15s Team from 2010–16, competing in two World Cup qualifying cycles.
• Competed for multiple teams in the Women’s Premier League.
