Lara-Jane Que has served as head coach of the Bowdoin men’s and women’s track & field programs since 2021, after previously leading the women’s program and serving as an assistant coach for the Polar Bears. Specializing in sprints and hurdles, Que has overseen a period of outstanding individual achievement at Bowdoin, with numerous NCAA qualifiers, All-Americans and NESCAC champions. Since joining the Bowdoin staff in 2017, she has coached 28 All-America performers, including eight in 2025, and was part of the coaching staff for Bowdoin’s 2018 NCAA Division III champion women’s distance medley relay.

At Bowdoin

  • Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Track & Field since 2021, with primary coaching responsibilities in the sprints and hurdles.
  • Served as Head Coach of Women’s Track & Field from 2019–21 after joining Bowdoin as an assistant coach in 2017.
  • Has coached 28 All-America performers since arriving at Bowdoin, including eight in the 2025 season alone.
  • Was a member of the coaching staff for Bowdoin’s 2018 NCAA Division III champion women’s distance medley relay.
  • Member of Bowdoin’s 2019 NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • Served as President of the New England Cross Country/Track & Field Division III Coaches Association from 2023–25.
  • Has served on the Coaches Advisory Committee and Bowdoin Athletics DEI Committee and as coach liaison to the Bowdoin Athletes of Color Coalition.

Athletic Career

  • Four-year scholarship student-athlete at the University of Rhode Island, competing in hurdles, sprints and relays.
  • Served as team captain during her senior season.
  • Atlantic 10 champion in both the 60-meter and 100-meter hurdles.
  • Earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 and First Team All-New England honors in the hurdles.
  • Named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll from 2009–11 and earned Academic All-Conference honors.
