Madeline Buckley

Maddy Buckley joined the Bowdoin women's soccer coaching staff in the fall of 2019. In 2015 and 2016, Buckley was the top assistant for Wheelock College and in 2017 and 2018 was an assistant at Tufts University. Buckley also serves on the Strength and Conditioning staff at Bowdoin. 

A 2015 graduate of William Smith College, Buckley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Critical Social Studies while minoring in Education. Buckley was a four-year varsity women's soccer player at William Smith and, in 2013, helped lead the Herons to the NCAA Division III Championship with a career-high 27 points. During her four-year career, Buckley landed 10th on the Herons' all-time scoring list at 83 points. Buckley was named the Liberty League Player of the Year, the ECAC Upstate Offensive Player of the Year, and the Liberty League Scholar Athlete of the Year. She also earned spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-East Region First Team, the NSCAA All-American Third Team, the NSCAA Scholar All-American Second Team, and the Capitol One Academic All-District team.  

In her senior year, Buckley was selected as the only student in the nation to receive the 2015 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup presented by Athletes for a Better World. The award, which honors the memory of John Wooden, famed UCLA men’s basketball coach and teacher, is presented annually to one intercollegiate and one professional athlete nationwide and across all divisions, who best display character, teamwork and citizenship, the attributes Athletes for a Better World deems central to transforming individuals, sports and society.
