Kelsey Willard

Kelsey Willard joined the Polar Bears as the diving coach for the '14/'15 season.  A 2009 graduate of Bates College, Kelsey (Lamdin) ended her collegiate diving career as an 8-Time NCAA Division III All-American diver.  Kelsey won the NESCAC conference titles on both boards as a senior in 2009, as well as earning Diver of the Year awards and Senior High Point Diver.  She also earned 7 NESCAC All-Conference awards.  Kelsey currently still holds records for Bates on both the 1m and 3m boards.

Kelsey grew up in Brunswick, Maine and began diving with former Bowdoin Diving Coach, Harvey Wheeler in 2002.  Kelsey's rapid improvement led to her Maine State Class A title in 2005, as well as KVAC Conference titles in 2004 and 2005.  Kelsey also had several strong finishes in the club diving arenas around New England as a participant in both AAU and USA Diving sanctioned events.

Since beginning her coaching career at Bowdoin, Kelsey has been awarded the NESCAC Women's Diving Coach of the Year award in 2016 and 2017 and the Men's Diving Coach of the Year award in 2018 and 2019.  Kelsey has coached several Polar Bears to top NESCAC finishes, as well as to the NCAA Diving Regional Championships.  Kelsey has also coached 3-Time All-American Mitchell Ryan '19 to the NCAA DIII National Championships from '16-'19.

“I believe that our foundations are what make us great.  We will focus on solid mechanics so that we can quickly improve your dive lists to be competitive.  We will work to build a solid foundation upon which you can hit big and miss small.”
