One of the most decorated players in Polar Bear men’s lacrosse history, Donal Mullane joined the Polar Bear coaching staff as assistant coach in the summer of 2023.
Mullane helped lead Bowdoin to its most successful season in decades in 2022, posting a school-record 18 wins and an NCAA Quarterfinal appearance. Mullane was named the NESCAC Player of the Year, a USILA Division III Second-Team All-American and ranked among the nation’s best with 59 goals and 46 assists for school-record 105 points his senior year.
After graduating from Bowdoin with a degree in Government and Legal Studies, Mullane took a post-grad year at the University of Maryland, where he was limited to four games due to injury but participated in all aspects of the Terrapins lacrosse program. He also served as a compliance intern in the Athletic Department office.
In addition to gaining experience with a nationally-ranked coaching staff at Maryland, Mullane was the assistant lacrosse coach at Georgetown Prep from 2020-21, and coached club at DC Express Lacrosse during the summer of 2022.
