Bowdoin College

Chap Nelson was named the Manager of Equipment Services at Bowdoin in the summer of 2016.

Nelson, a 1982 graduate of Colby College, had been the Athletics Equipment Manager at his alma mater since 1985. In addition to his equipment services duties at Colby, Nelson also served as assistant baseball coach for the Mules since 1993. He is a long-time member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association and has served in various roles within the State of Maine Baseball Umpires Association and Kennebec and Somerset Baseball Umpires Association over the last three decades. He owns a Master's Degree from The Ohio State University.

At Bowdoin, manages the day to day operations of the equipment room, including the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of all equipment and uniforms utilized by the athletic department.
