Jimmy Cerf joined the Bowdoin coaching staff as quarterbacks coach in the spring of 2022. Most recently at St. Lawrence University, Cerf joined the Saints football coaching staff as a wide receivers coach prior to the 2018 season, and was promoted to passing game coordinator prior to the 2019 season. In that role, he helped lead the Saints' aerial attack to a record-breaking season in 2019, with team records in pass completions in a season (271) and passing yards in a season (3,301). The offensive production helped St. Lawrence more than double their win total from 2018, finishing with a 5-5 record. Prior to arriving in Canton, Cerf was an assistant coach at San Francisco City College, where he helped lead the Rams to an 8-3 record and a win over Sacramento City in the Capital City Bowl in 2017 with an offense that averaged 42.9 points and 458.5 yards per game. A 2017 graduate of Dominican University of California, Cerf came to St. Lawrence with a decade of coaching experience in California, spanning from the high school to the collegiate level.
