Kendall Cox Leclerc, of the Class of 2005, was the epitome of a Bowdoin student-athlete, showing exceptional prowess in two sports, along with incredible leadership, to garner the extraordinary distinction of twice being named as an NCAA Division III First Team All-American in two different sports.
A stalwart defender for the women’s soccer team, she led a stingy defensive unit that helped the team to a combined 36-15-3 record over four years. Cox Leclerc was elected to the NCAA Division III All-American First Team twice, as well as being named All-New England and All-NESCAC three times.
As a goalie for the lacrosse team, she was equally—if not more—accomplished. Leading the team to a combined four-year record of 45-22, she set individual Bowdoin women’s lacrosse records for single season wins and minutes, and remains in the top ten all-time in career saves, goals against, wins, and minutes played. In addition to twice being named as an NCAA Division III First Team All-American, Cox Leclerc was twice named to both the All-New England and All-NESCAC First Teams and, as a senior captain in 2005, was honored as IWLA Division III Goaltender of the Year.
