Brunswick, Maine - The Colby Women's Soccer team was propelled by a second half goal to earn their first win of the season over Bowdoin on Friday night. The Mules stand at 1-0-0 (1-0-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 0-1-0 (0-1-0 NESCAC). 

Game Highlights

• Colby controlled the pace of in the opening half, outshooting Bowdoin 15-1 in the first 45 minutes
• Ilana Posner and the Polar Bear defense kept the Mules off the scoreboard, with the senior goaltender making five saves in the first half
• Colby broke through in the 55th minute when Ella Caraluzzi made a run down the left side of the field, centering the ball to Abagail Jarvi who put the ball in the back of the net
• The Polar Bears, immediately following the goal, ramped up their offensive pressure, but were unable to get the ball pass the Mules' goalie, Sadie Gardner

By the Numbers

• Posner, starting her first game for the Polar Bears, finished the night with a career high nine saves 
• The Mules owned a 10-2 shot on goal advantage over the Polar Bears, while Bowdoin had a 3-2 advantage on corner kicks
