Women's Soccer Falls to Bates in a Midweek Conference Matchup

Lewiston, Maine - The women's soccer team dropped a midweek match up at Bates College by a final score of 3-0. The Polar Bears fall to (4-5, 1-5 NESCAC) while the Bobcats improve to (3-1-3, 1-3 NESCAC)

Game Highlights:

  • Despite the Polar Bears having three shots in the first three minutes, it was the Bobcats who got on the board first less than ten minutes into the game when Eleanor Martin scored her first of two goals for Bates in the game 
  • The teams went back and forth for the rest of the first half, the Polar Bears with a 7-6 shot advantage 
  • The Bobcats scored two goals in the span of three minutes early in the second half to make the score 3-0 

By The Numbers:

  • Despite the final score, the Polar Bears had the shot advantage at 17-12 (5-4 on goal)
  • Jackie Shores and Anna Lenschow led the way with three shots each for the Polar Bear offense
  • Ilana Posner started in net for the Polar Bears, making one save
  • Zoe Castrucci got her first minutes in net of the season and did not have to make a save in her 30 minutes of action
