Women’s Soccer Falls at home to Williams Sunday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Williams at the Pickard Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon. The Polar Bears fall to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in NESCAC play while the Ephs move to 4-1 overall and in NESCAC play.

Game Highlights

  • The first half provided more offensive chances for the two teams as they combined for 14 shots. Williams held a 9-5 advantage in shots.

  • The Ephs continued the pressure offensively in the second half, once again reaching nine shots compared to one by the home team.

  • In the 70th minute, Williams finally broke through with a goal scored by Lucy Carrel with assists going to Jackie Rainville and Alli Aleman.

By The Numbers

  • Williams held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks with a 3-0 command in the second half.

  • Natalie Cooke made five saves facing 18 shots in her second start of her career.

  • Jackie Shores had two shots and the lone shot on goal while Anna Lenschow added three shots for the Polar Bears.
