The Bowdoin and Williams football teams will open their 2026 campaigns on Saturday in Western Massachusetts when they play at 1:00 p.m. at Farley-Lamb Field in Williamstown.

LAST SEASON 
Williams ended the 2025 season with a 5-4 record after starting the season 5-1 through six weeks. The Ephs ended their campaign with three straight losses at Tufts, to Wesleyan, and at Amherst. Bowdoin posted a 2-7 mark, winning two of their last four games (wins at Wesleyan and over Bates).
 
NCAA TOURNAMENT QUALIFICATION
For the first time in league history, the winner of the NESCAC will earn automatic qualification for the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship. Tiebreaking procedures can be found here.

LAST MEETING
Last year in Brunswick, Williams rushed for 223 yards and built a 35-3 lead in an eventual 35-17 victory over Bowdoin at Whittier Field. Williams held a 328-294 advantage in total yardage for the contest and took advantage of four Bowdoin turnovers and six Polar Bear penalties. Bowdoin's Angus Leary had eight tackles and two QB hurries while Owen Lydon added seven tackles. Abe Herzog had six stops and a forced fumble while Zach Taylor had an interception for the Polar Bear defense.

BOWDOIN vs. WILLIAMS – ALL-TIME
Williams has won two straight in the series since Bowdoin's 20-0 win at Whittier Field in 2023, which was the program's first shutout victory since 1998 and snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series. The Polar Bears will be looking for their first win at Williams since 1979. Williams owns a 59-16-6 edge in the all-time series that dates all the way back to 1890.
