BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team rolled Colby in an authoritative 19-12 victory on Wednesday night at Whittier Field.
The Polar Bears, ranked second in the latest USILA Division III poll, improve to 11-0 (8-0 NESCAC) while the Mules fall to 4-7 (1-6 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin jumped to a 5-1 lead thanks to a pair of early Chris Berry goals, but the Mules stayed within striking distance, trailing only 7-4 with 11:57 to go in the first half.
- The Polar Bears took command from there, scoring four straight goals and carrying a 12-5 lead into halftime.
- The third quarter was all Bowdoin as the hosts pressed down on the accelerator with two Sam Raye-Steiner goals in a 5-0 period that built the lead to as many as 12 goals, 17-5, entering the fourth quarter.
- In all, Bowdoin outscored Colby 11-2 over the second and third quarters and held the Mules scoreless for a stretch of 22:37 from the second until the fourth frame as they coasted to the win.

- Casey Ryan scored five goals and had four assists to spark the Bowdoin offense while Chris Berry notched four goals and three assists to go with five ground balls.
- Sam Raye-Steiner also pitched in four goals and two helpers while Hudson Greene had a goal and two assists.
- Defensively, Alex Byrne had three caused turnovers and seven ground balls for Bowdoin while Nico Schermer had six ground balls and a caused turnover with two assists on the night.
- Alec Delgado had six saves in 53:40 of play for Bowdoin as the Polar Bears out-shot the Mules 45-28 in the game and held a 21-14 advantage in faceoffs.
- Bowdoin has now won five straight against the Mules, dating back to 2019, with the average margin of victory being 10.8 goals during that streak.
