BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team dropped a seven-inning decision at home to the University of Southern Maine in a 12-1 final on Thursday night.
 
The Polar Bears drop to 11-14 as the Huskies climb to 20-6.
 
Game Highlights

• USM scored in every inning to cruise past the Polar Bears.
• The Huskies scored one run each in the first and second innings and doubled the tally in the third.
• Carter Higgins hit a grand slam to left in the fourth.
• A two-run fifth made it 10-0 and an 11^th run was added in the sixth.
• Bowdoin got on the board in the bottom half of the sixth with Wim Nook's RBI groundout.
• USM pushed the score to 12-1 after scoring on a passed ball in the final inning.

 
By the Numbers

• Colin McDonald carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth. McDonald pitched six innings with two hits allowed and four strikeouts.
• Bowdoin used seven pitchers who combined for five earned runs.
• Rudy Gately, Braeden Hurley, and Liam Childs all struck out two batters.
• Conor Moriarty, Lukas Tsai, and Henry Bibeau all had a hit.
