Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Babson in Non-Conference Win

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team held off Babson in a 10-9 road win on Tuesday night. The Polar Bears improve to 5-8 while the Beavers fall to 7-6.
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin never trailed in the game, but couldn't put the Beavers away as they held off a late flurry to secure their second straight win.
  • The Polar Bears jumped to a 4-1 lead out of the gate on goals from Mara Muse, Sydney Lennard, Grace Schorr, and Ellie Fabbro.
  • Babson used a 3-1 surge to close the gap to 5-4 late in the half before Miya Imaeda's second goal in a six minute span, with 59 seconds left in the stanza, gave Bowdoin a 6-4 edge at the break.
  • After the Beavers closed the gap to one again to start the third quarter, Bowdoin used a 3-1 run, capped by a goal right before the buzzer of the third quarter by Grace Schorr, to take a 9-6 lead into the fourth.
  • Babson closed the game on a 3-1 run of their own, but Bowdoin was able to hang on to win as Grace Harvey claimed a draw control with under ten seconds to play to secure the win.

  • Miya Imaeda led Bowdoin with three goals and an assist while Grace Schorr scored two goals for the Polar Bears.
  • Grace Harvey won ten draw controls, grabbed four ground balls, caused three turnovers and scored a goal for Bowdoin.
