BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten, pulling away in the third quarter for a 12-9 win over Amherst on Saturday afternoon at Whittier Field.

The second-ranked Polar Bears improve to 8-0 (5-0 NESCAC) while the 13^th-ranked Mammoths fall to 3-4 (2-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Bowdoin never trailed, but couldn't put away the pesky Mammoths as Amherst stayed within striking distance throughout the contest.
• Two first half goals from Chris Berry gave Bowdoin a slim 5-4 edge at halftime, but the Mammoths quickly tied the game at 5-5 early in the third stanza.
• Casey Ryan sparked the game's decisive run for Bowdoin, scoring two straight goals and keying a 6-2 surge by the Polar Bears that pushed their advantage to four goals, 11-7 early in the fourth quarter.

• Bowdoin's defense was outstanding as Alex Delgado made 12 saves and Nico Schermer led all players with seven ground balls and Alex Byrne added four.
• Bowdoin held a 15-10 edge in faceoffs thanks to Cam Wietfeldt (11-19) and Alex Choi (4-6).
• Casey Ryan paced the Polar Bears with four goals and an assist while Chris Berry had two goals and two helpers.
• Sam Raye-Steiner and Huck Trafton had two goals each in the win.
