CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team nearly toppled top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a 4-3 decision in California on Saturday.

The Polar Bears sit at 3-2 while #1 CMS is 8-1.

Matchup Highlights

• Bowdoin took the doubles point after wins at #2 and #3. Cara Hung and Suzanne Pogorelec went 6-4 at #2. Naomi Williams and Caroline Stuhlfaut won a comfortable 6-3 match at #3.
• Bella Hartung and Stuhlfaut both won three-setters in singles action to collect points for the Polar Bears.
• AT #4, Hartung finished 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 to give the Polar Bears the upset opportunity late in the match.
• Stuhlfaut posted 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 results at #5.
• Zoe Sun nearly pulled the upset for Bowdoin, battling to a three-setter at #3, in the final match of the day.
