BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team rolled Tufts 73-56 in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament on Saturday, advancing to the conference semifinals for the third straight season. The Polar Bears (23-1), winners of the last two NESCAC titles, will host the conference semifinals and championship next Saturday and Sunday, February 28-March 1 in Morrell Gymnasium.
Bowdoin will face Williams at 2:00 p.m. in the first semifinal next Saturday before Amherst and Bates play at 4:30 p.m. Sunday's title game is scheduled for noon. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, February 24, at 3:00 p.m. at GoUBears.com. Tickets will be $8 (adult)/$5 (senior)/$3 (student and child). Bowdoin student tickets will be free and will be available via a message to their Bowdoin email account on Tuesday afternoon.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin opened the game on an 11-2 run, sparked by six early points from Grace Kinum, but Tufts answered with an 11-2 surge of their own to deadlock the score at 13 apiece halfway through the opening frame.
- Three-pointers from Rachel Storey and Carly Davey sparked an 8-3 run to end the quarter for Bowdoin and the Polar Bears were able to extend their lead to 40-27 heading into halftime.
- Tufts cut the lead to 11 on a basket to start the second half but that was as close as the Jumbos would get. Bowdoin used an 10-3 push that increased the lead to 18 points by the end of the third quarter.
- The Polar Bears led by as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter on their way to the win.

- Bowdoin finished at 46% shooting for the game, including 50% from the field through the first three quarters.
- Abbie Quinn and Grace Kinum paced Bowdoin with 19 points each with Quinn added seven boards and three assists while Kinum pitched in five boards and three assists.
- Melissa Leone scored 11 points off the bench for Bowdoin while Maria Belardi scored nine points on a trio of three-pointers. Jamie Yue ended with a team-high seven assists and four steals.
- Bowdoin held a 35-26 edge in rebounding, scoring 16 second chance points, while holding Tufts to 38% from the field and scoring 21 points off Jumbo turnovers.
- The Polar Bears have won five straight against Tufts dating back to 2024, their longest win streak against the Jumbos since 2007.
