Goal Frenzy leads Men’s Soccer Over Husson

BANGOR, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's soccer head coach Scott Wiercinski tied the program's win record with a 3-1 decision at Husson on Thursday evening. The Polar Bears lift to 6-1-4 as Husson drops to 4-5-2.

Wiercinski's 120th win at the helm ties the legendary head coach Charlie Butt, who led the program for 23 years.

Game Highlights

  • Bowdoin came out aggressively and put the Eagles in a 2-0 deficit less than six minutes into the contest with Donovan Sinicropi netting the first goal in the fourth minute before Patrick Brady added a score three minutes later. Jack Banks was credited with an assist on both goals.

  • The opening goal came by a cross from the far side reaching Sinicropi in the box, delivering a one hopper into the back of the net on the first shot of the evening. The following goal came from a Banks headed at midfield that found Brady streaking into the box with a shot low and to the left corner for his third goal of the year.

  • Both teams found the back of the net in the second half. Bowdoin earned a goal from Alden Mehta netting his first goal since 2023 with a shot from the left foot reaching the back corner of the goal in the 61st minute with Banks credited for his third assist of the evening.

  • Husson took four shots in the second half and broke through with a goal in the 69th minute to conclude the scoring.
