Women's Tennis Opens Year At MIT Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Bowdoin women's tennis team started the fall season at the MIT Invitational over the weekend.
 
The Polar Bears saw strong results in both singles and doubles play.
 
Match Highlights
  • In the main draw, Bowdoin had a pair of doubles teams advance to the semifinals and finals. Caroline Stuhlfaut and Cara Hung faced a narrow setback in the semifinals. Zoe Sun and Isabella Hartung cruised to the finals and only fell in a tight 8-7 (7-5) setback.
  • In the consolation draw, Willow Assante-Labash and Suzanne Pogorelec advanced through the finals and were the third Bowdoin doubles pairing that only fell in a tie-breaker.
  • In main draw singles play, Marie Frati advanced to the semifinals after besting teammate Cara Hung in a tie-breaker in the quarterfinals.
  • Hartung advanced through the bracket to the consolation finals where she ultimately fell to an Amherst player.
