Baseball Completes Series Sweep Against Trinity

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin baseball team completed the series sweep of Trinity for the first time since 2017 with a 10-3 win on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears improve to 18-3 and 5-1 in NESCAC play. The Bantams drop to 8-13 (2-4 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights
  • Bowdoin scored its first two runs of the game in the opening inning following bases-loaded scenarios. Finn Cahill was hit by a pitch to drive in a run and Conor Moriarty walked with the bases loaded.
  • Trinity got one run back in the second off a sacrifice fly to center.
  • Kevin Murray answered in the bottom half of the inning with a sacrifice fly of his own.
  • Bowdoin had base runners in the third, fourth, and fifth innings but could not find another run.
  • Reuban Siegel resolved the drought in the sixth with a sacrifice fly.
  • Henry Bibeau had Bowdoin's first RBI hit of the game in the seventh inning and Cal Thompson followed up with another.
  • Trinity found a pair of runs in the eighth and had the tying run at the plate before Will Bordes fanned a batter for the third out.
  • Will Cooke tagged a two-run single in the eighth and Moriarty had another RBI single. Cooke later scored on a wild pitch.
 
By the Numbers
  • Bowdoin batters were hit six times at the plate.
  • Luca McKerley Coronado pitched seven strong innings with five hits allowed and six strikeouts. McKerley Coronado did not walk a batter and allowed only one run.
  • Cal Thompson had four stolen bases and three hits.
  • Liam Foley went 2-for -3.
