MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin men's lacrosse team used a second-half surge to earn a 13-7 win over Middlebury on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Polar Bears climb to 3-0 (2-0 NESCAC) as the Panthers remain winless 0-3 (0-2 NESCAC).
 
Game Highlights

• Bowdoin opened the scoring at the 11:55 mark when Chris Berry received a pass from behind the goal from Casey Ryan and lifted the ball into the upper-right corner.
• Middlebury responded with 10:37 remaining when Nick Marvin rifled a sidearm shot into the net from 25 yards out.
• The Polar Bears wasted little time answering, as Patrick Fitzgerald tallied a quick-stick marker just 20 seconds later for the 2-1 edge.
• The Panthers deadlocked the contest at 2-2 with 7:21 showing on the clock when Will Ford faked out goalie Robert Hobbs and slotted his shot into the upper-right corner.
• Bowdoin had the final say of the quarter, with Berry wrapping around the goal and slipping his shot inside the right pipe for the 3-2 edge.
• Middlebury rattled off three unanswered goals to start the second stanza. Ford got things going with a scoop-and-score at the 8:12 mark, before Cooper DeMallie lofted the ball over the shoulder of Hobbs with 5:01 remaining. Curtis capped the scoring span with a quick transition goal on a dish from Patrick Jamin for the 5-3 lead.
• With 23 seconds remaining in the half, Bowdoin took advantage of a Panther penalty, cutting the deficit to 5-4 on a long sidewinding tally from Will Lesko.
• The Polar Bears came out of the break strong, tallying four consecutive markers. Casey Ryan scored on both ends of the span, while Huck Trafton and Ryan Winters each found nylon to give Bowdoin an 8-5 lead.
• Middlebury sliced the Polar Bear advantage to one with back-to-back goals from Logan White and Ford to make it an 8-7 contest with one quarter to go. 
• The fourth stanza belonged to Bowdoin, as the visitors had five unique scorers secure the 13-7 victory.
