BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team took control in the second half of a 53-42 win against Colby on Saturday evening in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears improve to 6-0 while the Mules fall to 5-2.
 
Game Highlights

• Both teams struggled from the field in the opening half, with Bowdoin taking a 20-16 lead into the break as Carly Davey had seven points in the opening twenty minutes.
• The Polar Bears took control in the third, shooting 50% from the field and building a double-digit lead.
• Leading by just two with 2:50 left in the quarter, Bowdoin closed the frame on a 9-0 surge, capped by three-pointers from Maria Belardi and Davey to take a 37-26 lead into the fourth.
• Colby got as close as four points early in the final period but the Polar Bears kept them at bay, as Abbie Quinn sealed the victory with ten fourth quarter points to clinch it.

• Bowdoin's defense was tenacious, holding Colby to 33% shooting and forcing 21 turnovers in the win.
• Abbie Quinn scored 14 points while Davey finished with ten for the Polar Bears.
• Grace Kinum scored nine points with ten rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and three steals.
