BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's basketball team got back into the win column with an authoritative 82-63 win over Colby on Tuesday evening in Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears improve to 10-6 on the season with the win while the Mules fall to 9-6.
Tuesday's meeting was the non-conference game between the two Maine rivals. They will play the NESCAC match-up on January 25 in Waterville.
Game Highlights
- The game was out of reach from the jump, as the Polar Bears sprinted to a 15-3 lead thanks to five early points from James McGowan.
- Colby got as close as nine points, trailing 20-11 with 11:37 to go in the half, but Will Logue and Ray Cuevas caught fire after that, combining for 24 first half points as Bowdoin extended their lead to as many as 25 points before settling for a 51-28 lead at the break.
- The contest was never close in the second half as the Polar Bears led by at least 20 points until the closing minutes of the contest.

- Ray Cuevas posted a career-high 27 points, going 11-18 from the field, with four three-pointers, and four assists.
- Will Logue pitched in 18 points with six boards, four steals, and two blocks.
- Afamdi Achufusi had a game-high 12 rebounds with four assists for the Polar Bears, who owned a 55-38 edge on the glass and scored 24 second chance points.
- Bowdoin finished at 43% shooting for the game and held Colby to 32%.
- The win snaps a five-game losing streak for Bowdoin against the Mules and is the largest margin of victory for the Polar Bears since a 27-point win in 2012.
