Tufts Holds Off Men's Lacrosse, Polar Bears Earn Third Seed in NESCAC

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team fell to Tufts in a battle of nationally-ranked squads on Wednesday evening, 16-13. The win gives Tufts (13-2, 9-1 NESCAC) the top seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament while the Polar Bears fall to 10-4 (8-2 NESCAC) and will be the third seed.
 
Game Highlights
  • In a game that featured big goal-scoring runs in both directions, Bowdoin trailed 6-3 early in the second quarter after a five-goal Tufts run.
  • The Polar Bears answered with a 4-0 run of their own, taking a 7-6 edge with under six minutes to go before the break.
  • Tufts replied with their biggest run of the evening, rolling off seven straight scores from the 5:49 mark of the second quarter until the 6:33 mark of the third to grab a 13-7 advantage.
  • Bowdoin found its footing, and outscored 6-3 over the remainder of the contest, but could get no closer than three goals in the eventual setback.
